What To Do in Jamaica

Located in the Caribbean Sea, South of Cuba Jamaica is a very diverse country, with something for everyone! Activities on the island range from water sports through to historical excursions. Although with a very tropical, humid climate many visitors can be forgiven for spending their time bathing in the sun!

Some of the greatest attractions in Jamaica are the natural beauties that have existed for thousands of years. Cave Valley is home of the interconnecting limestone caves, which is a magnificent site and are an absolute must for any nature enthusiast. One of the greatest ways to see nature in Jamaica is to take the river rafting and plantation tour. The tour takes you down stream through the Jamaican countryside where you get to experience the thrill of river rafting as well as soaking up the breath taking views!

For travellers looking to delve further into the culture of Jamaica there are a number of historical sites that are of great interest. Lacovia, is the longest village in Jamaica stretching over 5 miles. The village itself has a lot of heritage as it use to be Jamaica's largest Jewish community and many fascinating remnants of this past remain to date within the village. The Lacovia village is probably most famous for its Cashew nuts which are the areas biggest export and main form of industry. For the hardcore historian travellers looking to find out more, the Coyaba River Garden and Museum offers a detailed guide from the pre-Columbian times. As well as being a great source of historical facts the beautiful gardens at Coyaba are worth the visit alone.
